A Funding Boost for Early Years Childcare
At Cosy Koalas Nursery, we’re here to support families every step of the way, including helping you make the most of available childcare funding.
From 2025 onwards (including 2026), eligible working families can access up to 30 hours of funded childcare per week for children aged 9 months up to school age.
Funding typically begins from the term after your child turns 9 months old and continues until they start school, helping to make high-quality early education more accessible and affordable.
These funded hours can often be used alongside other support options, such as Tax-Free Childcare, depending on your eligibility.

Funding Options
Flexible Funding All Year Round
At Cosy Koalas Nursery, we offer stretched funding for families who need childcare throughout the year. This allows funded hours to be spread more evenly across 51 weeks, rather than just term time.
Depending on your eligibility, this typically means:
Around 11 funded hours per week (equivalent to 15 hours term-time funding)
Or up to 22 funded hours per week (equivalent to 30 hours term-time funding)
This approach provides greater flexibility and consistency for families who require year-round care.
While government funding supports childcare hours, it does not cover certain daily essentials or enhanced experiences.
At Cosy Koalas Nursery, additional charges may apply for items such as:
Fresh snacks
Nappies, wipes, and care products
Enriching experiences such as outdoor learning, creative activities, or specialist sessions
These contributions help us maintain the high-quality care, nurturing environment, and enriching experiences that we’re proud to offer every child.

At Cosy Koalas Nursery, we offer a flexible, all-year-round option, allowing funding to be spread across the year—up to 22 hours per week over 51 weeks for consistent, reliable care.
Funding for 3–4 Year Olds
All children aged 3 to 4 years are entitled to 15 hours of funded childcare per week, from the term after their third birthday.
Eligible families may receive up to 30 hours per week, with the option to spread this across the year—around 22 hours per week over 51 weeks.
Tax-Free Childcare
eligible Familes can receive up £500 every 3 months per child to help with childcare costs.
For every £8 you pay, the government adds £2, which can be used towards your nursery fees.
You may be able to use Tax-Free Childcare alongside funded hours, depending on your eligibility.
